I'm sure you've guessed that common kitchen sponges are not recyclable or biodegradable, so they'll end up outliving a tortoise somewhere in a landfill.
Sounds like it's time for an eco-swap!
Our zero waste kitchen sponges are made of plant-based fibres, making them 100% compostable after they're all used up. The cellulose sponges are made from wood pulp, and the scrubbing pad is either loofah or coconut, and they're sewn together without toxic glue or adhesive.
Use these eco friendly sponges exactly as your regular sponge - cleaning dishes, utensils, countertops, tables, etc. They won't scratch your hands or dishes.
Our natural sponges dry hard (which prevents bacteria growth) and soften up with water.

Eco Facts
Typical sponges are made with plastic, and as they wear down with use, microplastics are released down the drain and into our watersystems.
Conventional sponges are also very porous and don't dry easily. This makes them the perfect breeding ground for bacteria... and then they're rubbed all over our dishes...🤢 Our biodegradable sponges dry hard, preventing bacteria growth.

How to Use and Care for Compostable Sponges
How to Use and Care for Compostable Sponges
Our compostable sponges can be used until they fall apart! Depending on how they're treated, you can expect a good 6 months out of each sponge.
After using your sponge, make sure to rinse it out to remove any food particles and allow it to air dry.
Your sponge will harden as it drys, which is great because bacteria thrives in moist conditions.
You have a few options for deep cleaning your sponge:
- Add to the top rack of your dishwasher
- Soak with water then microwave for 30 seconds
- Allow to sit in vinegar for 5 minutes, then rinse and air dry
