Dental Picks are a handy little invention and provide a lot of convenience, particularly for care givers. Unfortunately the conventional plastic styles also generate a ton of single-use plastic waste.
The Future is Bamboo has helped improve this concern by constructing these gentler alternatives:
- Handles made with plant based PLA (Polylactic Acid) derived from Corn, Cassava and Beets
- Compostable in some Industrial Composting Factories
- High quality floss that's Vegan & Cruelty free

How are dental floss picks eco friendly?
Dental Floss Picks are growing in popularity because of their ease of use, particularly for caregivers who help others with flossing. Unfortunately, like with most things, the convenience comes at a price, which is a ton of single-use plastic.
These dental floss picks are made with plant based PLA (Polylactic Acid), derived from Corn, Cassava and Beets, so they're not contributing to the manufacturing of virgin plastics.
Please note - not all communities can compost PLA yet, so if yours doesn't these need to be disposed of in the trash. That said, since these are made from plants, not plastic, they're still a lower carbon footprint and therefore a cleaner alternative.
