After a nerve-wracking week of uncertainty, we ended up with some (temporary) good news. The Canadian tariffs that threatened to disable small businesses across North America have been put on hold for 30 days. But before we start celebrating too hard, there's still some murky water ahead.
🎉 The Good News: No Tariffs… Yet!
Right now, we’re still able to ship to our U.S. customers without any added tariffs. We'll see what the next month will bring, but until then, Eco Shark is operating same as always.
🤷 The "We’re Not Sure Yet" News
Eco Shark may ultimately end up being hit by China’s tariffs. Many of our sustainable products are made from bamboo — because, well, that’s what makes them so awesome. But since bamboo comes from China, there’s a real chance that the Chinese tariffs will eventually affect us as well.
But Wait! More Good News!
Thanks to the Section 321 de minimis rule, as long as our international order stays under $800, our packages will continue to ship as per usual. As thrilled as I'd be for an $800 order of brushes, I think we're well in the safe zone here, even if this cap is ultimately lowered.
